The journal operates in order to provide immediate open access to its content. It complies with the Budapest Open Access Initiative definition of Open Access: By “open access” , it is meant the free availability on the Internet, the permission for all users to read, download, copy, print, search, or link to the full text of the articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without any financial or legal barriers. The only constraint on reproduction and distribution is to guarantee to the original authors the ultimate control over the integrity of their work and the right to be properly acknowledged and cited.
Articles in the journal are licensed under the Creative Commons – Attribution license (CC-BY 4.0). The authors maintain the copyright on their contributions, however guaranteeing anyone the possibility to download, reuse, reprint and distribute the published materials, with the sole condition that the author and the original publisher be correctly cited.
Occhialì – Rivista sul Mediterraneo islamico does not require any fee to the authors for the publication of the articles: both the revision and the publication are completely free.
